“We all feel stronger if we are part of a tapestry. One thread alone is weak, but, woven into something larger, surrounded by other threads, it is more difficult to unravel.”  Stefan Walters.

Walters’ words rang true for me when I visited one of my storytellers, Ted Lyndon, last week. Ted told me that his granddaughter, across the other side of Australia, can’t put his life story book down. “Boy, you had it tough, Grandad!” she had exclaimed to him down the phone.

By writing his life story, Ted has woven a tapestry, linking his granddaughter to his stories of grit and resilience. Knowing the strong stuff that she is made of will give that young woman the courage and strength to overcome whatever is put in her path.
