“I love these potted histories,” said a workshop attendee last week as she gently tapped a quote on the back of one of my books. I always print a poignant quote from my story-teller on my back covers, a quote which evokes their story in just a few words.

Potting a life story into a hand-held enticing read sounds like a daunting task to someone faced with a stack of family photos and endless chapters of stories filed in their memory bank.

Like a gardener capturing the boundless beauty of nature by putting a cutting into a pot, I apply my tools to put a life story into a book. And like potted plants, my books continue to grow as they get light and life from opening up conversations between loved-ones.
