“If I don’t sit in the right spot, the table will hit me on the head!” This was a line from my daughter, talking about her role as a stagehand for her most recent musical. Nimbly and deftly she pulled a cord while obscured by a tablecloth to partially collapse a table, for Mary Poppins to magically put to right again.
This old-world theatrical effect is such an incredible contrast to my daughter’s more frequent pursuits, using Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro to create mind-blowing video special effects for her communications degree. She is in the unique and privileged position of bridging two worlds.
Not so unique though. I am also privileged and honoured to bridge two worlds, bringing the stories of yesteryear to the children and grandchildren of today.
