Yesterday we marked 100 years since the end of WWI. 100 years sounds like a long time but time is relative.
When I was born WWII had been over for 18 years. All of my life I had filed WWII away in my mind as being a long, long time ago. Recently though I compared that time-span to my last 18 years which have gone by in a flash. In 1963 we were still patching ourselves up after the war.
Shaking up time lines is one of my favourite past-times. It gives me perspective on my clients’ lives; when they were born, when their parents were born, their parents were born and their parents were born. 4 generations, 100 years; the Armistice was not very long ago at all.
